Ingredients & Benefits
What's Inside Every Chew
10 active ingredients working together to support your husky's joint health
Boswellia Serrata
Boswellia serrata is a powerful botanical extract that helps maintain normal inflammatory response in joints. It works by naturally modulating the pathways that affect joint comfort and flexibility, without the side effects of pharmaceutical options.
What it does:
- Helps soothe joints and maintain comfortable movement
- Supports flexibility and range of motion
- Promotes joint comfort during activity
📊 The research: In a Swiss veterinary study, 71% of dogs showed improved mobility and reduced stiffness after just 2 weeks of Boswellia supplementation.[1]
Green Lipped Mussel
This New Zealand-originating superfood is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and natural compounds that support joint comfort. Unlike standard fish oil, green lipped mussel contains a unique fatty acid profile that's been specifically studied for joint health.
What it does:
- Natural source of omega-3s for joint comfort
- Provides glycosaminoglycans for cartilage support
- Helps maintain normal inflammatory response
📊 The research: A clinical trial in dogs with osteoarthritis found that a green-lipped mussel–based supplement supported improvements in mobility and comfort over several weeks, showing benefits aligned with those seen in dogs treated with an NSAID.[2]
Turmeric
Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound that's been used for centuries in traditional medicine and is now backed by modern research for its anti-inflammatory properties. We use organic turmeric to ensure the highest quality.
What it does:
- Helps maintain normal inflammatory response
- Provides antioxidant support
- Works synergistically with Boswellia for enhanced benefits
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the synovial fluid that lubricates your dog's joints. It's what makes joints move smoothly and absorb shock during activity. As dogs age, hyaluronic acid levels decline.
What it does:
- Helps lubricate joints for smoother movement
- Supports synovial fluid function
- Contributes to joint shock absorption
📊 The research: Clinical studies have shown that oral hyaluronic acid is absorbed and incorporated into joint tissues, where it helps maintain the viscosity of synovial fluid for better joint lubrication.[3]
Glucosamine HCl
The gold standard in joint supplements. Glucosamine is a building block of cartilage - the cushioning between your dog's joints. As dogs age, their bodies produce less glucosamine, which is where supplementation comes in.
What it does:
- Supports healthy cartilage structure
- Provides raw materials for cartilage repair
- Helps maintain joint integrity over time
MSM
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) provides sulfur, an essential building block for connective tissue. Think of it as the glue that holds everything together - tendons, ligaments, and cartilage all need sulfur to stay strong and flexible.
What it does:
- Provides sulfur for connective tissue formation
- Helps maintain normal inflammatory response
- Supports joint comfort and flexibility
Chondroitin Sulfate
Chondroitin is already present in healthy cartilage - it's what gives cartilage its shock-absorbing properties. Supplementing with chondroitin helps protect existing cartilage from breaking down and works synergistically with glucosamine.
What it does:
- Helps protect and maintain cartilage structure
- Supports joint tissue integrity
- Works best when paired with glucosamine
📊 The research: A landmark 2007 veterinary trial found that the combination of glucosamine and chondroitin significantly improved joint function in dogs with osteoarthritis over a 70-day period.[4]
Mixed Collagens
Collagen is the most abundant protein in your dog's body and the primary structural component of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Supplemental collagen provides the peptides needed to support these tissues.
What it does:
- Provides structural protein for cartilage and connective tissue
- Supports joint tissue integrity
- Helps maintain tissue flexibility
Vitamin E
A powerful antioxidant that helps protect joint tissues from oxidative stress and supports overall cellular health. Think of it as protection for all the other ingredients working hard in your dog's joints.
What it does:
- Provides antioxidant protection for joint tissues
- Supports overall cellular health
- Helps protect against oxidative damage
Black Pepper
Black pepper contains piperine, which dramatically increases the absorption of curcumin from turmeric. Without it, most of the curcumin would pass through your dog's system unused.
What it does:
- Enhances absorption of curcumin by up to 2000%
- Maximizes the benefits of turmeric supplementation
Why This Formula Is Different
It's not just about what's in it—it's about how it all works together.
Most joint supplements include the basics—glucosamine, chondroitin, maybe MSM. We include additional ingredients designed to support joints through different mechanisms:
Cartilage Support
Glucosamine, chondroitin, and collagen provide building blocks for healthy cartilage
Joint Comfort
Boswellia, turmeric, and green lipped mussel help maintain normal inflammatory response
Lubrication
Hyaluronic acid supports synovial fluid for smooth movement
Enhanced Absorption
Black pepper helps optimize nutrient bioavailability
The result? A comprehensive formula designed to address joint health from multiple angles.
The Ingredient You Won't Find on Most Labels
Real chicken bone broth.
We use real chicken bone broth—not just for flavor, but because it provides collagen. We enhance it with an innovative natural herb and spice blend that creates an irresistible chicken taste.
Here's why that matters: even the best formula is only effective if your dog will eat it consistently. Huskies are notoriously selective eaters, which is why palatability was a top priority in our formulation.
Real bone broth plus our natural flavor blend means even selective huskies take their chews willingly, every day, without resistance. No hiding in food. No bribing. Just a supplement they actually want.
Inactive Ingredients
The rest of what's in each chew serves a purpose—binding, preservation, texture, and shelf stability:
Chicken Bone Broth, Chicken Flavor, Citric Acid (as preservative), Flaxseed Meal, Garbanzo Flour, Glycerin (from Palm, RSPO), Palm Fruit Oil (organic, RSPO), Pea Flour, Sunflower Lecithin
No artificial preservatives. No unnecessary fillers. Just what's needed to make a soft chew that stays fresh and tastes great.
Our Promise
We created this formula when we couldn't find what we needed for our own husky. We didn't cut corners on ingredients, and we didn't compromise on palatability.
Every ingredient is here for a reason. And every chew is made to support your dog's joint health - not just check a box on a label.
